You have two options for the BBS: if you want to be able to play the online games then you will need to use the telnet version; if you are just wanting to access the message bases and file section then you can use the php web interface.
If you are having trouble connectingto the telnet side, try useing one of these windows programs: NetRunner, or MiniTel
